MERRY XMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My Christmas Card With All Good Wishes to YOU

It’s one of my old photos, taken on a large format camera – the roll of film slipped.

A happy accident as  I liked the effect so much that I published it as a postcard, and as two different greetings cards.

I originally published this on julzcrafts.com, as part of the blogging101 course, but it really belongs here!

And to celebrate this decision, I have also created a permanent page where you can see these photos, and even buy a print, a card or a few postcards, if you so wish – smile: see south wales – sepia mining range.

Whilst working on this blog, with the help of the WordPress Team, and the other hundreds of people on this online course, who come from every part of the globe, I have been reviewing and rethinking, and struggling at times with layouts and exactly what to say.

In my first blog for this course, I put up a couple of images that I published as sepia postcards, and I wondered why I did that, because I took them so long ago!   You can see that post HERE.

For whatever reason, I am prompted to put up two more of this set of images, my favourites. There was a small mine a little way up the hill from where I live that was still working with their well-loved pit ponies…

some more of my old photos – from a series I did on agricultural shows

At one time I was “official photographer” for my local agricultural show, in the Swansea Valley – at one time it was a thriving show – I was really sad to see that it is no longer going.

Someone has tried to put on a substitute recently, but when I popped in to see it last summer, there were no animals around, just a small mix of stalls – still I hope they keep going!

This is a small selection from photographs I took at various agricultural shows around Wales – including the Royal Welsh.  Most of these are people shots, or things I found amusing.

These are all scans of prints.  I have loads more on negatives, not digital.  Been thinking of buying one of those scanners that convert negatives to digital…..hmmm!
